Terms of Use

Last updated: October 20, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the Deskmates team at iteratim.io ("we") for using the Deskmates app and this website. By ticking "I agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy" when you sign in, or by using Deskmates, you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use Deskmates. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

Deskmates is a small, shared room. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You may not post, in your name, work line, check-ins or chat, anything that is harassing, bullying, threatening, hateful or discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, spam, or illegal, or that shares someone else's private information. Don't impersonate anyone.

  • Report: long-press a message and tap Report message, or tap a person's desk and report them.
  • Hide: hide a person, or just their messages, so you stop seeing them. They aren't told. You can unhide them from Crew info.
  • Filter: names, check-ins and chat are checked against a list of blocked words before they are posted.
  • Review and removal: we review every report within 24 hours. We remove objectionable content, and we remove users who post it or who abuse others, from their crew and from Deskmates, without warning.

To reach us about abuse directly, email support@iteratim.io.

Who can use Deskmates

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Deskmates is invite-only while we test it. You need an invite link from someone in a crew. One person, one account, one crew at a time.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep access to your email safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens in your account.

Your content

You own what you post: your name, work line, check-ins and chat messages. You give us permission to store it and show it to your crew so that Deskmates works. You're responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to post it. If you delete your account, chat messages you sent stay in your crew's chat as "Former deskmate".

Fair use

Don't break the law, try to read other crews' data, get around the word filter, the seat limit, reports or hides, reverse engineer or overload the service, or use bots or automated accounts.

Ending your use

You can leave your crew from Crew info, and delete your account any time in the app (Account → Delete my account). We may suspend or remove your account, or remove your content, if you break these terms, to protect others, or if we stop running Deskmates.

A beta service

Deskmates is a free beta. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Features may change or stop, and the service may be unavailable at times.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Deskmates. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can't be changed by agreement.

Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for Deskmates or its content and have no duty to provide support for it. If you got Deskmates from the App Store or TestFlight, Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement also applies where these terms don't cover something.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. Using Deskmates after a change means you accept the new terms.
